City of Central Falls, City Clerk Central Falls City Council Notice of Public Hearing Zoning Ordinance Amendments
The Central Falls City Council will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances Titled Zoning on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 6:00 pm at City Hall, Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 580 Broad Street, Central Falls, RI. Opportunity shall be given to all persons interested to be heard upon the matter of the proposed ordinance.
The following are proposed changes to the Central Falls Zoning Ordinance under consideration by the Council:
Section 209: Land nonconforming by area
Modify setback and lot coverage requirements for undersized lots, for consistency with state law.
Remove the requirement to merge undersized lots.
Section 304: Permitted uses
Update the language which permits ADUs in all residential districts, for consistency with state law.
Section 305 (Zoning Use Table), Section 1100 (Definitions), and Appendix A:
Add Smoke Shop and Animal Shelter as defined terms and uses in the appropriate sections.
Section 501: Accessory uses
Add requirements for establishing ADUs, for consistency with state law.
Appendix A
Add the use code and definition for Formula Business to correspond with the use table.
The proposed amendments may be examined and copied at cost at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 580 Broad Street, Central Falls, or at http://www.centralfallsri.us/city_council_meetings.
The official Zoning Map will not be affected by the proposed amendments.
The proposed amendments may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without fur- ther advertising or notice, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any alteration or amendment must be presented for comment in the course of the hearing.
